English rock band The Libertines formed in London in the late 1990's, and achieved commercial and critical acclaim with their first two albums; 2002's 'Up the Bracket' and 2004's 'The Libertines'. The band, driven by the songwriting partnership of Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, broke up in 2004 after conflict between the pair, exacerbated by Doherty's personal issues. The full line-up of Libertines reunited in 2010 and have gone onto achieve additional mainstream success.
